At Rotorua Seventh-day Adventist School, we are focussed on developing this key area for our teachers and wider community.
Board of Trustees: Planning professional training opportunities to understand and give effect to the Education and Training Act 2020.
Leadership: Sharing of current knowledge and practice on Christian Maori Education PLD in NZ and Australia. Developing further the Maori Adventist Framework and resources.
Kāhui Ako/Community of Learning: Local schools are working in collaboration with Ngati Whakaue and the wider Te Arawa iwi and hapu.
Teachers: Teachers will complete over the next 2 years through Te Aho o Te Reo professional development with classroom support, improving confidence and growth of Te Reo Māori.
Learners: Engaging in Te Reo lessons, learning about New Zealand history and our place. Our learners are also active participants with Rotorua Seventh-day Adventist School practices such as karakia, waiata, kapa haka, mihi whakatau.

- working to ensure that its plans, policies, and local curriculum reflect local tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori, and te ao Māori; and
- taking all reasonable steps to make instruction available in tikanga Māori and te reo Māori; and
- achieving equitable outcomes for Māori students.
